Vanilla is a spice that is used in a multitude of food products, and although more than 90% of the flavours used in Canada are of chemical origin, there are still a certain number of processors, and especially consumers, who want to appeal to the taste of the real thing. Real vanilla has a delicate, sweet and strong aroma. The taste of real vanilla never leaves an unpleasant aftertaste. And while natural vanilla can be used in large quantities without raising the heart (unlike artificial vanilla), just a little bit of real vanilla is enough to transform your dish.
