Attention! Beginning of the "lean season" in Madagascar

Attention! Début de la période de "soudure" à Madagascar
In Madagascar, we call this very feverish period at the end of the vanilla export campaign "soudure". Indeed, from March 31, 2020, it will no longer be possible to export vanilla, and this, until October 15, as you will see in the document below. This period is critical because the income that will allow vanilla growers to live until October is at stake now.
It is therefore time to reserve your stocks of vanilla because the doors will soon close. Already, local collectors are crisscrossing the bush on motorbikes to get the best prices from producers before their counters close. Those who have waited in the hope that prices will rise will be disappointed and will have no choice but to sell to the highest bidder.
As far as Colibri Vanille is concerned, we are fortunate to be able to keep our suppliers out of the clutches of the collectors for a few more weeks, but after that, all the rest of their stocks will have to be sold locally.
Of course we will have stocks of vanilla from other sources, but for lovers of the intense and chocolatey flavor so typical of Madagascar, it's time to act! Call us to reserve your vanilla!
